Adam Sulaiman Kalungi is a free man.
The High Court in Kampala has dropped charges of manslaughter against him.
Kalungi has been serving a 4 year sentence at Luzira prison after he was convicted by the Makindye Magistrates court for the death of former Butaleja Woman MP, Cerinah Nebanda in December 2012.
High Court judge, Lameck Mukasa, in his ruling this afternoon, says the Makindye Magistrate court did not critically evaluate the evidence brought against the accused.
Mukasa says Kalungi is a procurement officer and could not have treated Nebanda since he is not a medical doctor.
He further says the accused did his best by calling in doctors, as well as giving the late Nebanda first aid.
The judge instead pushed blame to the doctor at the clinic in Kansanga where the late was first taken, saying they prescribed wrong medication for him.
