The Anti-Corruption Coalition-Uganda is asking the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) to urgently address the enumerators’ concerns so it does not affect credibility of the results.
This comes after a section of census enumerators tasked government to expedite the process of releasing their allowances and increase the quantity of census materials used to ease their work.
In telephone interview with KFM, the Coalition’s Executive Director- Marlon Agaba, says such developments may negatively affect the census results because lack of motivation affects productivity.
“The biggest risk is that you don’t expect someone who is hangry and tired to collect 100% accurate information no wonder motivation is low even chances of making mistakes either deliberate or not deliberate are high, w appeal to UBOS to address this concern.’’ Mr. Agaba said.
The 2024 National Housing and Population Census (NHPC) exercise is running until May 19th under the theme; “It matters to be counted”.
