Three nurses of Abim Referral Hospital are in trouble for speaking to Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye.
The trio appeared on television explaining the despicable state of the health facility in Karamoja, may face disciplinary action if investigations find them guilty to have talked to the press without authorization.
Three nurses, Santina Adong, Paska Akello and Immaculate Owili, who were present at the hospital, are being investigated by Abim District Chief Administrative Officer, Moses Kaziba Nandhala.
Nandhala picked on Adong, whom he said undermined her superiors by talking on their behalf without authorization.
On Saturday, Dr Kizza Besigye, the Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate, visited Abim referral Hospital built in the 1960s, which he found in a dilapidated state and that had been without a resident doctor for nearly two years.
Dr Besigye was guided by Ms Adong around abandoned wards.
Ministry of Health spokesperson, Ms Rukia Nakamatte, also confirmed that they are investigating to establish whether there was any wrongdoing.
