A primary school in Bukomansimbi district has closed and sent all pupils home before the official closure of the term for lack of a pit latrine.
Lwamalenge Church of Uganda Primary School in Bukomansimbi district has been found closed by education authorities of the district during an inspection of schools in the district.
It is reported that the schools management forced to close the school prematurely before the end of the term because the school pit latrine had curved in.
According to Dina Nassaka the Lwamalenge C/U Primary school head teacher, she was forced to send pupils back home and close the school because the pupils and teachers were being inconvenienced because they did not have a pit latrine.
Nassaka says that the school had a 4 stance pit latrine and it curved in because it was so old and the school could not raise the funds to put up another latrine.
