Training of enumerators for the 6th post-independence National Housing and Population Census will be concluded tomorrow.

This has been revealed by the chairperson of the Uganda Bureau of statistics Board of directors Dr. Albert Byamugisha while addressing the media during a joint news conference held at the police headquarters at Naguru.

He has also assured members of public that the data collected will be kept confidential.

Meanwhile, government has been asked to update parliament on the forthcoming national housing and population census.

This was after the Nakaseke central Member of Parliament Allan Mayanja informed the House that even though it is just a few days to the national census, many Ugandans are still not aware of the exercise which might disrupt the activity.

This prompted the speaker of parliament Anita Among to ask the government to update the country.

The National Housing and Population Census 2024 kicks off on May 10th (which has been declared a public holiday)–running until 19th under the theme, “ the minister responsible for that should for that activity should give us an update because most of  Ugandans are not  aware of the activity and yet it is very important.” Allan Mayanja. Said.
