Over 500,000 people are at risk of starvation in Karamoja.
This has been revealed by the Minister for Disaster Preparedness Eng. Hillary Onek during a press conference this evening.
Onek said the hunger situation that has left close to 50 people dead in Kaabong and Moroto, has now affected 60 districts.
He says although the current food shortage is likely to persist until the end of October, government together with other partners are to continue offering relief food for this period.
He however encourages people in affected areas to use the available food sparingly.
