The police in Kampala have arrested five people for allegedly promoting homosexuality in the country.

The arrest follows several reports of sodomy cases involving young boys in different parts of the  country.

Addressing the media this morning, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi spokesperson said four cases have been reported to various police stations including Kiira road and Old Kampala.

He said preliminary investigations show that 3 of the victims have been infected with HIV/Aids as a result of engaging acts of homosexuality.

Senkumbi says the suspects are yet to be produced in court.
