Atleast 47 deaths resulting from illegal power connections were registered last year.
This has been revealed by power distribution company UMEME.
UMEME managing director Charles Chapman has also revealed that the company loses upto 60bn annually, which accounts for 24.7% of the total revenue.
He has told journalists that the vice is common in areas of Masaka, Mbale and Wandegeya in Kampala.
