Parliament has approved a supplementary budget for the Ministry of defense worth 367.2 billion shillings as an additional funding to cover shortfalls on different items.

The requested funds will cover special meals, fuel for land forces, medical products owed to private Hospitals, classified expenditure and fuel for air force.

Out of this budget 247 billion shillings will go to classified expenditure, 60 billion shillings for Special Meals, 22 billion shillings fuel for Land Forces, 24 billion shillings for clothing; 2 billion shillings will go to medical products from private hospital and 13 billion shillings for fuel and 13 billion for air force.

Other items to be funded, 7.3 billion shillings is for Lands Ministry to cater for payment of outstanding debts owed to Shelter Afrique by the National Housing and Construction Company.

However the Budadili West mp Nathan Nandala Mafabi argued that 60 billion shillings for feeding soldiers is an inflated amount.

Parliament has also authorized government to borrow of 84.7 million dollars from the Export Import Bank of China for the innovation and development of Science and technology project in Uganda.
