At least three people have been confirmed dead in an accident at Nabbuzi Kamengo in Mpigi district.
The accident involved a taxi reg no UAR 793 E that knocked a bus before over-turning a number of times.
The police spokesperson western Uganda Phillip Mukasa says the taxi driver identified as Gerald Mwesigye died instantly, together with two others including an unidentified women.
He says that the accident occurred as the driver tried to overtake three vehicles.
16 people have survived with injuries .
