Police at Kasaali, in Rakai District are holding three people including a police officer over a missing gun.
The police officer whose name has been withheld was supposed to be on duty at the time of the attack.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that an AK47 with 30 rounds of ammunition went missing from Luuti police post in Kasaali Sub County in Kyotera district following an attack on the police post by the duo.
Musa Kayongo the Kyotera District Police Commander says the duo took t advantage of the absence of the police officer who was supposed to be on duty.
Cases of missing guns are becoming common in the newly created district this being the second to be reported in a space of just one month.
