The second prosecution witness Idris Nsubuga has told court today that he has never been a member of Alshabab, ADF, or Al-qaeda.

The trial of the 13 July 11th 2010 bomb suspects is underway.

The second prosecution witness Idris Nsubuga has told court that he has never been a member of Alshabab, ADF, or Al-qaeda.

He however maintained his earlier confession of planting the bombs that killed 76 people at Kyadonodo Rugby grounds telling Court that after committing the offence he returned to his home in Najjanankumbi and lied to his wife that he was from a friend’s home.

He also said that while on remand at Luzira prison, he stole papers from the officer who was in charge of the East Wing and wrote a letter to President Museveni apologizing to the nation.

Nsubuga is one of the key witnesses in this case and is now serving 25 years at Kigo government prison.
The sentence was handed to him in 2011 by Justice Owiny Dollo after he pleaded guilty to 76 murders, 3 terrorism and ten counts of attempted murder.
