The country’s courts of law and the Uganda Human Rights Commission should reign in and check the excesses of the police force.
This is according to Busiro East MP, Medard Lubega Ssegona who says since the police begun the current wave of unlawful arrests and detention of opposition politicians, no action has been taken against them.
He has described the police action as destructive to the rule of law.

The police Chief has however often insisted that they are acting within the confines of the Public Order Management Act which he accuses some politicians of misinterpreting.
