15 smuggled voters arrested in Lugazi

In Lugazi municipality at Nkokonjeru, 15 people have been arrested in Buikwe South Constituency after voters complained that they were not residents in the area.

Upon interrogation, the group that claims to be veterans is led by one Rtd Lt. Sekisambu Kirabira.

According to the Officer in Charge of NkokonjeruSikisambuMugoya Joseph revealed that they are part of a group of 27 were ferried from Mbuya.

Mugoya says the suspects are to be further interrogated as the search for the others at large continues.

The key contestants in the Buikwe South race are the incumbent Lulume Bayiga and NRM’s Ronald Mutebi.

In Kitega at the Church Of Uganda Polling station, voting has stalled after polling officials failed to operate the bio-metric machines.

They later resolved to manually verify the voters’ identity.
