The ministry of finance and the Japanese government are in final stages of negotiating a rural electrification project financing deal.
This has been revealed by the Japan Ambassador Junzo Fujita who says the project worth 12m dollars will support the third phase of a rural electrification program in Eastern Uganda.
He says this is one of the many projects meant to enhance the country’s energy production and development.
Meanwhile the chief representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA Kyosuke Kawazumi noted that without access to sustainable energy there cannot be sustainable development.
