Youths disrupt Kabaka’s birthday celebrations

At least 3 police officers have been seriously hurt by unruly youths at the ongoing celebrations to mark Kabaka Ronald Mutebi’s 57th birthday.

Hundreds of youths stormed St. Mary’s College Kisubi, where celebrations are being held but were denied access.

The police have been forced to fire tear gas to disperse the youths, who had become unruly, pelting stones at the police officers.

The function is being attended by invited guests only but the youths say they don’t needs invitation cards to access the Kabaka’s function.

Our reporter Martin Sebuyira who is at Kisubi says at least one person has been arrested so far.

Prayers led by Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala however continue uninterrupted inside the school, a few meters away from the gate, where the chaos erupted.
