Wakiso taxi drivers petition town clerk over poor state of the park

By James Kabengwa

Wakiso Taxi Drivers and Operators Association has petitioned the town clerk Luke Lokuda seeking permission to vacate the new taxi park and return to the old one until all essential facilities like toilets, shades and access roads are put in place.

In their petition, their chairman Umar Ssimbwa has expressed dissatisfaction over the status of the new park, saying it is affecting their business.

He argues that because of the poor conditions of the new park, taxi drivers are parking on the road side thus making the town council lose close to Shs12 million in revenue per month.
