The Uganda National roads Authority have applauded the operation Fika Salama in the process of reducing road accidents in Uganda.
While addressing media today, the Commission’s executive director Allen Kagina said that since its inception in august this year 10,468 offenders have been apprehended.
She explained that due to the success registered along Masaka road, the operation have been extended to Kampala- Jinja road, Kampala-Gulu road, Kampala- Mityana road, and Kampala-Hoima road.
She explained that due to this success, this initiative will be sustained until all road users come to realize their roles.
Some of major caused of road accidents have been identified as vehicles in dangerous mechanical conditions, Careless Driving, Driving without license and over speeding have been the major cause of road accidents
