UNEB asks government to pay examination fees for UPE & USE candidates

By Damali Mukhaye:

Officials from Uganda National Examinations Board have asked government to pay the examination fees for students under the universal education programs on time to enable them carry out their mandate without ease.

Speaking during the commissioning of the new printery this morning, the UNEB executive secretary, Daniel Odongo said whereas other students who are in private schools pay their examination fees on time, those registered under the Universal Secondary and Primary Education programs are usually left behind.

He says this also affects the marking of exams thus delaying the release of final results

He also called upon the government to also increase the development fund for the board for purchase of essential materials like answer scripts for candidates.
