The opposition Democratic Party has called upon all Ugandans and political parties to put aside their differences and unite to fight bad governance.
Addressing journalists at the party’s weekly news conference of the year, the spokesperson Kenneth Kakande said the proposal by the majority of the NRM Members of Parliament to endorse the constitution amendment seeking to remove presidential age limit should energize them to fight what he calls dictatorship.
Kakande says they are determined to fighting on and protect the constitution, adding that the battle is not only for the opposition but rather for the whole country.
Kakande argues that Uganda is big enough to accommodate alternative leadership and thus the opposition will not stand by an look on while the constitution is abused.
The Democratic Party’s calls comes as debate continues in parliament on the controversial age limit bill.
