Serere Woman MP Helen Adoa has warned people in Busoga region to take note of the threat of Hepatitis B and get vaccinated.
Responding to Kamuli RDC Moses Dumba’s call for preventive rather than curative health services, Adoa pointed out that Hepatitis B is rampant in Teso region and there is a lot of trade and cross border movement to Busoga potentially exporting the disease to Busoga.
She also called for more community heath outreaches on sanitation, hygiene and communicable disease prevention.
Earlier Kamuli RDC Moses Dumba said communicable diseases take much of the health budget expenditure yet they could be curtailed by using health education.
