Teachers forge signatures

Police in Kibuku district have arrested nine teachers and one parish chief for forging Chief Administrative Officer’s signature to get salary arrears.

The nine are part of the nineteen teachers and three parish chiefs who are suspected to have allegedly forged Fred Ngobi’s signature to access 2014/2015 financial year arrears.

Ngobi said the teachers and parish chiefs forged his signature and stamp on the files authorizing arrear claims to secure money from the Ministry of Finance in February this year.

Michael Odongo, Bukedi region police spokesperson told journalists at Tororo Central Police station that the teachers connived with parish chiefs to get salary arrears amounting to over 98millions.
He says that police will widen its investigation into the scam.
