State of the Nation Address set for tomorrow

The State of the Nation address that was earlier scheduled for today will take place tomorrow at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

The State of the Nation Address is held at the annual opening of a new session of Parliament, with the President’s speech focusing on the current political and socio-economic state of the nation.

However, the opposition says it does not expect much from President Yoweri Museveni’s address.

Forum for Democratic Change member and Terego MP, Kassiano Wadri says they are used to the same old speeches by the President criticizing the opposition so they expect nothing new this time.

Meanwhile a cross section of the members of the public expect the president’s speech addresses the high fuel and other commodity prices as well as the deteriorating services in the health sector.

The State of the Nation Address will be followed by the presentation of the national budget by the new finance minister Maria Kiwanuka on Wednesday.
