Ugandan traders operating in South Sudan have asked to beware of the growing insecurity along the major roads to the capital Juba.
The warning comes after a driver and conductor of a truck were abducted by suspected South Sudanese rebels on Tumbura road.
According to Byrone Kinene the chairman of the regional Lorry Drivers and Transporters’ Association, many areas in South Sudan are under rebel control and thus who ever plies such routes must beware of the risk.
He says that areas like Lumbek and Yambio are totally insecure and so traders must be vigilant.
The warning comes just days after the IGAD-brokered South Sudan peace talks resumed.
