Police yet to issue World Cup guidelines

The police are yet to issue security guidelines to be followed during the world cup season to avoid a repeat of the 2010 terror attacks in Uganda.

In July 2010 over 70 football fans died in twin bomb blasts at the Kyadondo Rugby grounds and Ethiopian village restaurant in Kabalagala respectively as they watched the world cup finals.

The police spokesperson Fred Enanga tells KFM that all places where the matches are to be screened must heighten security by ensuring thorough screening of fans.

The world cup tournament kicks off on Thursday this week in Sao Paulo Brazil.
