Police have pledged total security during the Martyrs day celebrations due on 3rd June.

Addressing journalists this afternoon, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander ACP Moses Kafeero said over 1000 uniformed and non-uniformed police officers shall be deployed to this effect and various access control measures and traffic rules are to be put in place.

Kafeero says police is also going to have aerial surveillance using their ICT department to complement those on ground.

He adds that children will be pinned with the names and telephone numbers of their parents so that they can easily be traced once lost.

Kafeero is meanwhile advising all motorists to use public means of transport and abandon their personal cars to avoid causing traffic jam and for security purposes.
