Police in Kampala has this afternoon been involved in a cat and mouse chase with activists demonstrating against the Shs 200 daily levy on social media.
The group was led by the Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi who was later joined by musicians, journalists, comedians and other Ugandans who are opposed to the tax.
Police fired teargas to disperse the crowd that was marching towards parliament.
Drama later ensued as Kyagulanyi beat the security and entered parliament premises as they attempted to arrest him.
The group last week declared it would strike after government remained unmoved by their calls to scrap the social media tax.
