Police enforce directive on truck drivers

The police in all border points have started enforcing the police chief’s directive on long distance truck drivers.

They have started impounding all trucks carrying unauthorized passengers.

Last week the police issued a directive to all integrated highway patrols and police at border points to intercept all vehicles carrying unauthorized passengers.

The police spokesperson at the Malaba – Kenya border Michel Odingo tells KFM that currently police checks have been tighten and no vehicle is allowed to cross with more than two people.

The decision follows intelligence reports that terrorists could exploit such loopholes to enter the country.
