Police battles traders at Kisekka Market

police deploys in town

Police has today fired teargas to disperse traders at Kisekka market who were blocking an eviction process by KCCA enforcement officers.

Business came to a standstill as police engaged in running battles with the traders.

The DPC Kampala metropolitan police commander James Namuwooza says that police swung into action as traders started throwing stones at the KCCA officials.

However the traders have accused police of wrongly throwing teargas canisters into the market.

Kampala capital city authority last week started demolishing kiosks around Nakivubo channel.
