Over 3500 students apply for the government university loans

Over 3500 students have so far applied for loans under the government university loan scheme.

This is way above the government target of 1200 students and above 2125 students who applied year.

The Executive Director Higher Education Students’ Financing Board, Micheal Wanyama says the technical team is currently scrutinizing the applicants and the final list will be out by 9 September.

This financial year government allocated 11 billion shillings to extend loans to students from poor backgrounds mainly offering sciences at bachelors and diploma level.
