Museveni tours Kampala

President Yoweri Museveni is reported to have paid a surprise visit to the city last night, inspecting the ongoing works.

Museveni is said inspected works on various roads as well as the waste management plant at Saint Balikudembe Market.

The president, whose tour began at around 11.00pm, was reportedly impressed by what he saw and pledged continued support to the Kampala Capital City Authority.

This is according to the city Executive Director Jennifer Musisi, who says the President challenged the city management to continue working towards improving its image.

The city Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago however says that he is shocked that the president chose to conduct the tour without bothering to inform him.

Lukwago says the President has to respect the political leadership of the city and learn to work with them.

The Lord Mayor however says the President’s gesture is welcome since it shows the commitment of the government to having the situation in Kampala improved.
