Students of Makerere University are demonstrating over new rules for  tuition payment.

The students this morning stormed the university streets with placards and tree branches calling for a review in the system of tuition payments.

This follows the introduction of a new system by the university authorities where students are required to pay 60% of tuition in the first six week.

The students have blocked roads and moving around the halls of residence.

The police is heavily deployed at the university.
