A section of Members of Parliament on the defense committee has walked out of a meeting this morning.
The walk out was prompted by the chairperson’s refusal to discuss the alleged oppression of the opposition by the police.
The MPs wanted the Internal Affairs minister Aronda Nyakairima who is currently appearing before the committee to explain police’s actions.
However, the chairperson Benny Namugwanya said this is impossible because it is not on the agenda.
MPs including Muwanga Kivumbi,
Wamai Wamanga and Ken Lukyamuzi are demanding that the matter be taken to the floor of parliament.
