MPs challenged to conduct their business with diginity

By Moses Kyeyune:

Parliament has asked opposition lawmakers to treat themselves and the institution they serve with dignity, lest they embarrass themselves.

The call by parliament’s Director Communications and Public Affairs, Chris Obore follows accusations by the opposition that the 29 million shillings age limit facilitation money given to MPs is a bribe.

Obore says the allegation is false since the money was given by government, which funds all parliament activities including salaries.

Regarding the Bill coming from a private member, Obore says that consultations on the Bill by Igara West MP Raphael Magyezi is because of the significance if the bill and the fact that it touches the constitution.
