National female Youth MP Anne Adeke has asked parliament to order for the immediate re-opening of Makerere University.
Adeke raised the issue as a matter of national importance asking parliament to intervene as a matter of urgency.
President Museveni recently ordered for the closure of the university citing security reasons after students took to the streets in the wake of a sit down strike by teaching staff demanding payment of their arrears amounting to 39 billion shillings.
Adeke says that Makerere’s closure continues to not only affect students but various innocent stakeholders .
However, the Minister of state for Higher Education John Cyrstom Muyingo has informed parliament that the committee appointed by the president will help end the mess at the university .
