The ministry of health has distanced its self from the controversial proposal to bring Cuban Doctors in Uganda.

While appearing before Public Accounts Committee, the permanent secretary ministry of Health Dr Diana Atwine said that this proposal was introduced by president himself at the time when doctors were on strike.

However her response forced the members including the committee chairperson Angelina Osege, Gerald Karuhanga, Mathias Mpugaand Theodore sekikubo to question her why they did not advise the president of the cost implication of this decision

She has however said that this was just a stop gap measure at the time.
