Makerere Guild elections gain momentum

Campaigns for the Makerere University guild race have kicked off with the candidates hinging their message on health and security, with majority of them stressing that these two aspects are important as far as students’ lives are concerned.

The campaigns entered day three today with twelve candidates pushing to become the institution’s 82nd guild president but this time round no female candidate expressed interest.

The candidates include Democaratic Party flag bearer, Roy Ssembogga Roy,  ShaficKalyango, Simon Ssenyongaboth Independents.

The elections are slated for 11 March 2016 and will be followed by those of the Guild representative Councilors on 14 March 2016.
