Upper Luzira Prison has registered an improvement in the performance of the inmates who sat for the 2016 primary leaving exams compared to 2015.
According to the results which were released yesterday by Uganda National Examination Board, out of the 77 candidates who registered, 69 Candidate sat with 2 obtaining division 1 and 32 obtaining Division 2 with 3 ungraded.
Speaking to kfm, the spokesperson of Luzira Prison service Frank Baine says that there has a remarkably improvement in the performance of their inmates with 2 being in the first Division, 32 in division in 2016 and from the 1 they had in first division in 2015 with 20 in division two respectively.
He explains that the prison has been able to give education to inmates from kindergarten level to university to enable those who could not access education while out to also acquire knowledge at no costs
He noted that he expects that these people will continue to ungraded their education to secondary leave until they are released.
