Kenyatta said that much as he respects the court’s decision, he knows he “fairly” won the August 8 presidential poll by more 1.4 million votes.

The Election observers have criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta’s continued attack on the judicial system ahead of the 17th October election re-run.

Since the annulment of his election, Kenyatta has repeatedly criticized Kenya’s Chief Justice and the whole judicial system for wrongfully nullifying his victory.

According to Crispy Kaheru the coordinator citizen’s coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda, Kenyatta still represents the executive arm of the government that his attack on the judiciary defeats rule of law.

He said that due to the volatility of Kenyan political setting, all candidates must choose their words carefully to avoid creating animosity.
