The Chief Justice of Kenya David Maraga has accused the police of deliberate refusal to provide security to judges who are under persistent threat from politicians.
Since nullification of the August 8th presidential elections results, the judiciary has been under fire from various politicians especially from the ruling Jubilee Party who accuse the judges of being corrupt.
According to Justice Maraga, the Inspector-General of Police Joseph Boinett has of ignoring calls to beef up security for judges and courts thus exposing them to danger.
However, the police spokesperson George Kinoti has denied the accusation, saying all judicial officers have police bodyguards.
