The Nakawa Magistrates Court is today expected to rule on a bail application filed by the nine people accused of participating in the murder of former AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
The suspects are expected to appear before a grade one magistrate Noah Ssajabbi.
On October 30th 2017 the suspects, through their lawyer Ladislous Rwakafuuzi requested court to release them on bail having spent six months on remand without being committed to the High Court for trial.
The magistrate however stopped 5 out of the 14 suspects including a woman Sauda Ayub from applying for bail on grounds that they had not made the mandatory period of six months on remand having been charged on 11th May 2017.
These are all accused of participating in the killing Kaweesi, his driver Kenneth Erau and body gourd Godfrey Wambewa on March 17th 2017.
