The Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiiga says that the restoration of the Kasubi tombs has been delayed by insufficient funds.
Meeting clan heads at Bulange Mengo, the Katikkiro says there is a comprehensive plan to restore all tombs including those in Kasubi which is expected to be completed come next year but the project has derailed because of the limited funds and cultural norms to be followed.
He says before the ban of the ettafali campaign people managed to contribute over 400 million shillings, and that now there is a big gap.
He is now calling for the more contributions from all stake holders to have work finished.
Omega Construction Company was contracted to work on the Kasubi tombs that were burnt two years ago.
Speaking at the same meeting, head of Clan leaders, Allan Nakirembeka Waligo reechoed the call to have the kasubi tombs report released.
