Kadaga defends establishment of a parliamentary media

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga as defended the establishment of a parliamentary media outlet saying that it will cater for unmet needs by the private media.

Kadaga has been officiating at a public dialogue between parliament and members of the Civil Society at parliament in Kampala.

The Speaker says that once in place, the parliament radio and TV will have live broadcasts and serve specific interests on policy and legislation that are usually avoided by private media.

The dialogue currently underway is part of activities to mark the Parliament Week under the theme “Engaging the Public in a People-centered parliament.
