Medical workers in kabale district have asked the government for more hospital equipment to enable them take care of the growing number of patients.
The area has recorded a sharp increase in malaria cases which is mainly affecting women, children and the elderly.
The main health center four which takes care of the residents of kabale and surrounding areas currently has only three beds despite receiving over 200 patients daily.
Dr Kyomugasho Naome the head of kamukyira Health center 4 says they are also registering increasing cases of miscarriages which she attributes to increasing malaria.
