The commission of inquiry into land matters has issued fresh summons against the Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees Eng Hillary Onek .
This is after he failed to appear before the commission this morning as he was directed earlier to defend himself on allegations that he threatened the life of former Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister Steven Irumba over a disputed piece of land that forms part of Kyaaka 1 refugee camp.
The fresh summons has been issued by the Commission’s chairperson Justice Catherine Bamugemeire after the lead counsel Ebert Byenkya informed her that the Minister had written a letter to the commission informing them of his absence today.
According to the letter the minister is traveled out the country on official duty and has pledged to appear before the commission upon his return.
