IT and technology state minister calls for more funding

The state Minister of Information Communication and technology, Aidah Nantaba has stressed limited funding and lack of support for research and innovations as the major cause of brain drain in Uganda

Addressing journalists in Kampala, Nantaba said the government must therefore invest more resources in research and innovation if it is to help the youth acquire relevant ICT skills in order to be competitive in the labour market.

She notes that for this to happen, more investment and funding must be diverted to this sector

She however commended President Yoweri Museveni for giving the ministry a sum of 15bilion shillings to fund innovative youths.
