Illegal foreigners around Kampala cracked down and arrested

Over 20 illegal foreign workers have been rounded along Kampala road in an operation conducted by the ministry of internal affairs.

These were mainly Asians with majority being Indian nationals and a section of Pakistanis.

The deputy spokesperson of the ministry Benjamin Katana says many were found operating without work permits while others had overstayed their Visas.

Some of those netted had established shops despite entering Uganda using Tourist visas.

Katana says the culprits are to be prosecuted and later deported after screening

He warns that such impromptu operations are to continue to net foreigners illegally operating in the country.
