IGG ready to fight graft- CSos not convinced

The interdiction of UNRA officials over the Mukono-Katosi road deal is a step in the right direction.

The inspectorate of Government yesterday interdicted four officials from the Uganda National Roads authority over mismanagement of the project.

The interdicted officials include the acting Executive Director, Ssebuga Kimeze, Director Finance and Administration,  Joe Ssemugooma, legal counsel Marvin Baryaruha and David Luyimbazi  the director of planning.

Now the Anti- corruption coalition Uganda Executive Director Cissy Kagaba says the decision by the IGG is good but should also apply to the bigwigs in the ministry of works.

Meanwhile

The inspector general of government Irene Mulyagonja says the fight against corruption should not be politicized.

Appearing on the hard talk show this morning, Mulyagonja said that her office is ready to investigate any corruption complaints brought up to her office.

She also explained her decision to interdict officials at the Uganda National roads authority
