Govt Advised Not To Dismiss Kony’s Call For Talks

Government is asked not to dismiss Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebel leader Joseph Kony’s call for resumption of peace talks.

Early this week Kony issued a statement asking that fresh talks be held immediately and unconditionally, a move government has dismissed as a mere joke.

According to Amb Harold Acemah an international relations consultant, government should not shut Kony away if he is genuine this time.

He however adds that to prove his level of commitment, Kony must stop committing atrocities against innocent civilians.
