Gen Tumwine blasts religious leaders

By Ritah Kemigisa.

The security minister Gen Elly Tumwine has described religious leaders who preach about negativeness of government as terrorists.

Interacting with born again pastors from Nansana Municipalities yesterday, Tumwine said this is because any preaching that makes people lose hope and creates fear among them cannot be propagated by a man of God.

He is now challenging religious leaders to desist from hate speech and also seek to restore hope among the hopeless Ugandans.

Tumwine says it is the hate speech that has made many people in the country commit crime especially in the areas of Nansana and Masaka that was characterized by machete wielding individuals.

He meanwhile tasked them to spearhead the patrolling of peace in their neighborhoods by working together with police.
